DESCRIPTION:At Green Space Miami on October 3\, 2023 a panel discussion in partnership with Miami Book Fair. \n  \nAt 6 pm a viewing of two shows: \nHalleluyah: Recycling and Upcycling le Salon de Refusé curated by Bernice Steinbaum \n  \nAhol Sniffs Glue:  Geographies of Trash: \n  \nAt 7 pm Victoria Pesantes hosted an interactive panel discussion with: \nAurora Molina\, Fiber Artist\, Social Practitioner\, Educator \n  \nDavid Anasagasti\, Artist \n  \nPamela Geller\, Professor of Anthropology at University of Miami \n  \nVerónica Buitrón\, Designer\, Author and Educator \n  \nVeronica Pesantes has over 25 years’ experience in the fields of sustainability\, education and the arts. Among other institutions she has worked as a researcher at the Prado in Madrid\, and as international education program manager at the Guggenheim Museum in NYC. She holds a MA in Critical Theory and Art History from the University of Chicago. In addition she is the founder and lead designer of two sustainable brands where she has collaborated with global artisans for over twenty years. As an activist and educator she serves as a bridge that connects the academic sphere to a simpler way to understand and integrate the complex historical narratives surrounding colonialism.
