We Met at Miami Poetry Club

We Met in Miami and Miami Poetry Club teamed up to facilitate love, friendship and community during curated poetry writing exercises and small-group conversations.

This was an afternoon where words, creativity, art, and community came alive.

• Guided Poetry Writing: An Ekphrastic Poetry workshop led by the Miami Poetry Club, inspired by the Green Space Miami exhibition. Ekphrastic poetry is a form of writing where the poet vividly describes a piece of art—such as a painting, sculpture, or photograph—using words to capture the essence, emotion, and story behind the artwork.

• Art Exhibition for Inspiration: Explore I Am Little Haiti: A Love Song for a Place and a People, curated by Carl-Philippe Juste and Dr. Rebecca Friedman. This exhibition goes beyond displaying beautiful artwork; it delves into the complex history and vibrant culture of the Haitian community. Each piece, created by renowned artists, celebrates the past, present, and future of Little Haiti, highlighting the community, its people, and the institutions that define it.
