Opening Reception and Curator’s Tour of “tide lines of the frame,” featuring old and new works by 2025 WOPHA Artists-in-Residence Kat Thompson and Nathyfa Michel.
Guest-curated by Cecilia González Godino, Interim Associate Curator at the Institute of Contemporary Art, Philadelphia, the exhibition explores the entanglements of memory, landscape, and visual culture across fractured geographies.
Through image, video, and material experimentation, “tide lines of the frame” challenges the visual traditions that once framed the Caribbean as consumable spectacle, exposing instead the absence of true archival care and opening a space for resistance and reimagining.
