Asser Saint-Val, born in 1974, is a native of Haiti who currently resides in   Miami. He earned BFAs in both Painting and Graphic Design from the   esteemed New World School of the Arts / University of Florida in 2004. Throughout his artistic journey, Asser has garnered widespread recognition and received numerous awards for his talent. Notably, he was honored with the prestigious South Florida Consortium Award twice for his captivating mixed media paintings and innovative art installations. The brilliance of his work also earned him DVCAI Catalyst Grant Award in 2017 and 2022. 

Asser is a recipient of the Miami Individual Artists (MIA) Stipend award   Program in 2022 and 2023. His work has graced the walls of international art fairs, galleries, museums, and experimental spaces in diverse cities and countries, including Washington DC, Miami, New York, North Carolina, Tennessee, West Palm Beach, Cuba, Puerto Rico, Argentina, and the University of West Florida.  

Asser has taken part in various artist residencies, such as the inspiring New Wave in West Palm Beach, the Miami Children Museum, the Diaspora Vibe Cultural Arts Incubator in Suriname, South America, Casa del Caribe in Santiago de Cuba, and the Edna Manley College of the Visual & Performing Arts in Jamaica, WI. His artwork has found a cherished place in esteemed private collections such as the Rubell, Mike Paola’s Collection, The Miami Dade County Public Library System, Arturo Mosquera & Lisa Collection and more. 

Saint-Val has an exciting lineup of future projects. In September 2024, he   will present a solo exhibition at The Frank C. Ortis Gallery in Pembroke   Pines. Additionally, he has been commissioned for two public art projects in   Miami-Dade County, signifying the potential for his artistry and creativity to leave a lasting impact on the community.
