Statement
“My photographs explore the beauty and complexity of everyday Black life. But I’m also interested in the quiet moments that often go unnoticed, the family traditions, neighborhood gatherings, and the landscapes that shape our memories. Working primarily with film allows me to slow down and create images that feel intimate, timeless, and rooted in lived experience. The selected photos are about the importance of knowing where you come from. Rooted in my family’s history and Southern culture, they preserve the stories, traditions, and everyday moments that have shaped my identity, honoring the people and places that continue to inspire my practice.”
