“It’s a testament to the grit of the people who live in Miami. This isn’t just a one-time story about displacement but a cycle that constantly happens, pushing people and forcing them to be nomadic.” – artist Arsimmer McCoy speaking to The Art Newspaper perfectly encapsulating what it means to be a Miami artist – Artists in a constant state of adaptation. Adapting a step ahead of rapid development is how artists survive and thrive in big cities the world over. Expanding the frontier to find and hold on to space to live, work, gather, and exhibit.
