AIRIE Asks

AIRIE Asks is a monthly artist talk series hosted by the Artist in Residence in the Everglades (AIRIE). It features current, recent, and/or alumni AIRIE Fellows.
Artists in Residence in Everglades (AIRIE) May Fellow, Venus Jasper and artist Lee Pivnik reflection their residency at Everglades National Park. Venus Jasper (They/he) is a queer visual artist and musician, storyteller, world builder, writer, and curator, currently based in Amsterdam, Netherlands.In their current artistic practice, they work with participatory performances that take place inside greatly detailed hand-made multi-sensory installations. Venus will share an intimate look at their practice, process, and month-long stay in the Florida Everglades. They will be joining in conversation with Lee Pivnik, a Miami based Artist whose art creates a visual language for ecological entanglement, referencing fungal networks, epiphytic plants, and emergent animal architectures that inhabit South Florida.
