Florida’s Emancipation Day – A Juneteenth Experience

The annual Juneteenth Experience on May 20th, Florida’s Emancipation Day. This evening is a celebration of Black history, Black music, freedom, and joy and will include a hybrid panel and performance. The panel topic will center distinct voices from across the Black diaspora, highlighting the importance of maintaining a lens of intersectionality as we explore and celebrate Juneteenth.

Hued Songs produces performances across South Florida that amplify Black joy, Black creativity, and Black Belonging. Through song, spoken word, dance, and multimedia, our work is rooted across three core principles:

To provide a platform through which BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of Color) artists can be seen, heard, and paid. The arts are a right and not a privilege, thus we work to remove cost, geography, and perception barriers to every performance. Every performance is an opportunity to build belonging, empathy, and community for all.
