Environmental Futures II: WOPHA 2020-2022 Artists In Residence Opening Reception
Join us for the opening of Environmental Futures II: WOPHA Artists In Residence (2020-2022), an exhibition that brings together visual artists Amanda Bradley @amandaabradley, Adama Delphine Fawundu @adamadelphine, and Nadia Huggins @nadiahuggins.
Curated by WOPHA @wophafoundation Founder & Director Aldeide Delgado @aldeide_delgado, the exhibition includes a special intervention by guest artist Nathalie Alfonso connecting old and new works from diasporic identities through ideas of belonging, identity, and landscape. The WOPHA Artist in Residence program originated in 2020 as part of the organization’s vision to be a meeting place for the international community of women in the photographic arts. Environmental Futures II: WOPHA Artists In Residence (2020-2022) presents three years of collaborative work, in partnership with prominent cultural institutions in Miami, to provide artists with a room of one’s own for creativity and self-care, while highlighting the diverse artistic production of the African diaspora, including the Caribbean, Latin American, and Latinx communities.
